I took my first photo on a hand-me-down Kodak Box Brownie around the age of 10. Many months later, after finishing off the film and waiting for the photos to be processed at the chemist, I finally got to see the results of my work. I remember being amazed at seeing the images on paper of what my eyes previously saw, and my mind had almost forgotten about. I noticed things in the photograph that I didn’t even see when taking the pictures.
This started a lifelong fascination with photography, about what it could represent and how it could capture many aspects of our lives. The technology may have changed over the years but my reaction of amazement to each new image I produce has pretty much stayed the same. Luckily my photographic skills have become a lot lot better.
